Colorado River and Covert Park!

Last Sunday, I visited Covert park near the Colorado River.

You may know this Colorado river is going across downtown Austin. For a fun fact, there are two Colorado rivers that exist in the U.S. One is going across the state of Texas, and the other one is more famous. It is the river that starts from Colorado, runs and formed the famous Grand Canyon, and leads to the Gulf Of California.

Why do these two rivers have the same name? This is because the documentations are unclear. Many Spanish visited North America in the 1600s and those descriptions about the river got mixed up!

Well, whichever the real one is, the sight from Covert park is amazing! The combination of the skyscrapers in downtown and the Colorado River is breathtaking.

  2. Great post ! Two rivers having the same name is interesting for me. I like how you wrote an explanation for why the two rivers are named the same. I have seen the Colorado River before and it is beautiful (Austin One).
